THE LATIN AMERICA’S BEST RIVER CRUISE LINE IS IN ECUADOR

ANAKONDA AMAZON CRUISES IS AWARDED LATIN AMERICA’S  BEST RIVER CRUISE LINE IN THE FIRST EDITION OF THE WORLD CRUISE AWARDS

In May of this year, Anakonda Amazon Cruises, the only cruise line operating in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, was nominated for 3 different categories in the First Edition of the World Cruise Awards and was awarded Latin America’s Best River Cruise Line, while its most recent vessel, the Manatee Amazon Explorer, received the award for Latin America’s  Best River Cruise Ship.

The cruise line has 2 ships: the first is the Manatee Amazon Explorer, inspired by the conservation of species native to this incredible destination, and of great importance to the rich biodiversity and its essential role in a balanced ecosystem. Cruising aboard this luxury adventure ship invites us to identify with a different animal species in each of its suites and learn from these noble spirits considered to be guardians of the forest.

The second vessel that makes up this renowned cruise line is the Anakonda Amazon Cruise Ship, inspired by the Spanish Argonaut Francisco de Orellana’s expedition in his search for El Dorado, the Lost City of Gold, which began in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. Our luxurious Amazon expedition cruise invites guests to explore this magical destination in supreme comfort. The Anakonda Amazon Cruise Ship was awarded Best Boutique Cruise Line in South America by the World Travel Awards in 2016.

Best river cruise line in Ecuador

Anakonda Amazon Cruises travel through the mythical waters of the Napo River, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon River. They offer immersive experiences in Yasuní National Park, declared one of the planet’s Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO in 1989, and selected by National Geographic as one of the seven sustainable destinations for 2022.

With more than 40 years of experience, our CEO Raul Garcia has developed a sustainable ecotourism model called the “Amazon Sustainability Circle”, which includes more than 15 native communities living along the Napo River, and collaborates with two conservation programs for endangered species – Charapa Turtles and Pink River Dolphins. Our operation thus creates an alternative form of income for local communities and provides an authentic experience in which our guests may explore an exclusive destination, enjoy biodiversity and share in the traditions of ancestral cultures while supporting the preservation of this amazing ecosystem. Our CEO Raul shares this altruistic vision with his son Diego Garcia, company Vice-President in charge of innovation and sustainable development of the different programs and markets, who carries on the mission of preserving this legacy for future generations.
